Proofreading
Diction offers proofreading, which results in error-free and fluent text. If you have a text that you need to have proofread, our proofreaders are available and ready to assist you in the languages we specialize in. The proofreader who reads the text has the language of the text as their native language.
Languages
We have an international network and proofread texts in most languages. The most common languages we proofread are Icelandic, English, Polish, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, French, German, and Spanish. However, we have proofreaders in most languages, so feel free to contact us if you need proofreading.
Proofreading Prices
At Diction, there is a fixed price for proofreading, whether it is proofreading a magazine article or a highly technical specialized text. Unlike many other translation agencies, Diction has a simple and transparent price list. We want to provide all our customers, whether they are students or large companies, with good service. Proofreading with us always includes corrections of spelling errors, typing errors, incorrect use of punctuation, grammar errors, or incorrect spacing between letters.
Types of Proofreading
At Diction, we offer several different types of proofreading. Firstly, there is what we call basic proofreading. This involves checking for language errors, spelling errors, and use of punctuation. In addition, we offer rewriting, where we change the sentence structure, the language used, and take into account the intended recipient of the text. It is usually texts of poor quality that need rewriting to make the text as customized as possible.
Corrections
When we proofread a text, you will receive it back in two versions. One version will have comments, and the other version will have the final text with all the changes made. If you want the text without language and spelling errors, we recommend that you get the text proofread.
What texts can we proofread?
Diction has experience in proofreading: Sales texts, texts for brochures, manuscripts, announcements, press releases, correspondence, newsletters, contracts, news-related content, and academic texts, to name a few. Regardless of the type of text you have, we always have the most experienced translator in each field. This ensures the best context in the text.
What we correct during proofreading
When you request basic proofreading, we only check for the usual errors, such as spelling, typing, and grammar errors. When you request rewriting, we not only correct these errors; if we think the best solution is to change the sentence structure or word usage, we do so, as the message of the text can often be lost in meaningless sentences. We therefore prefer to spend a little more time creating a straightforward text, to clearly and securely convey the message. We proofread all texts, but if we receive a text from a field we have not worked with before, we will let you know in advance.
Delivery time
We are very flexible when it comes to delivery time, whether it is a large or small amount of text. The delivery deadline, of course, depends on the volume of the text, but generally, 5 working days is sufficient time to work on the text. For larger projects (over 50 pages), the delivery time may be longer. However, we offer priority service, and if this applies, other projects will be set aside and we will start work on your project immediately. If you want to ensure a quality text, proofreading with us is the perfect solution. At Diction, everything revolves around the quality of the text. We therefore do not send the text out until we are sure it is in order.
