Transcription of videos and audio files regardless of language
One of the service categories of Diction is the transcription of voice and/or video recordings into text form. We specialize primarily in solutions for transcription in Danish and English, but we also offer transcription in other languages such as Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, German, French, and Icelandic. We can deliver your completed text file as a plain text document (.txt) or as a time-stamped subtitle file (.srt) for video.
Get text for your video
We find the right solution for any situation, whether you are contacting us on behalf of an institution that needs subtitles for educational, advertising, or instructional videos, or a company that needs subtitles for an advertisement, interview, or lecture. We can deliver subtitles as soft-coded text, and you'll receive an additional SRT file. The subtitles will then be embedded in the video, but you can remove them and reinsert them if you want to make any corrections to the file. Another option is to receive hard-coded text, which means the subtitles will be a fixed part of the video.
Accuracy - time codes specified in the transcription
If you need to be able to adapt the transcribed text to your own preferences, we recommend that you order a transcription with time codes. This makes it easier for you to review the video and compare it to the text. We use the latest software solutions on the market when it comes to converting speech to text. Afterwards, our proofreaders go through the content to ensure quality and good work practices. With the latest technology and the human expertise of our language specialists, we can guarantee 100% accuracy.
Transcribed text with translation
Diction also offers translation of videos and audio files. Once we have transcribed the spoken language into text, we can translate the text into the desired language and deliver the translation with time stamps. You can choose whether the final text should be delivered in TXT (.txt) or SRT (.srt) format.
Confidentiality and trust
All inquiries and data processing related to subtitling are handled in the strictest confidence by Diction. Many of our clients, both individuals, companies, and public institutions, have special requirements for security and confidentiality. After the transcription, your files will be deleted, and the same applies if you do not purchase our transcription service.
We work with unpublished videos and audio files on a daily basis and are therefore accustomed to handling confidential information. Additionally, all our employees and suppliers are bound by confidentiality agreements that cover all the content they work with.

If you need to have a large amount of audio content transcribed, Diction has developed a solution that might be suitable for you. By using transcription software, we can also offer automatic machine transcription. The output is a comprehensible and finalized transcription of the content. This solution is well-suited when the budget for transcription is limited, and it is sufficient to have the text roughly correct.
However, please keep in mind that with machine transcription, the software may pick up laughter and coughing, or miss or misunderstand certain words. Punctuation can also be a challenge, especially when questions are posed.
Delivery time
On business days, we deliver the file with the automatic transcription on the same day it is submitted with a confirmed order. For manual transcriptions, the delivery time is usually at least 2-4 business days. If you contact us in advance for the transcription, we can shorten the delivery time.
