It varies depending on the nature of the text, but in some cases additional proofreading is necessary and is then carried out by someone other than the translator themselves. Additional proofreading may, for example, be necessary when the text is highly technical or when it is necessary to ensure that the use of terminology is correct. This may apply, among other things, to translations of legal texts, technical texts for construction plans, medical texts or financial texts.

When is additional proofreading needed?

In many cases, it may be necessary to purchase additional proofreading. If you are unsure whether you need additional proofreading, we will help you assess the situation and advise you. You submit an inquiry, free of charge, which our project manager then evaluates. Here are some cases that often require additional proofreading: legal texts, texts related to trademarks and patents, tender documents, legal opinions, medical records, medical journal articles, technical information, professionally complex texts, texts intended for printing, or other information concerning patients.

Texts where additional proofreading is usually not needed

At Diction, we always want to deliver high-quality work while also giving our clients favorable prices. Our price list is therefore compiled in a simple and logical way. Some translations are simpler than others, and then it is sufficient to have a native language translator translate your text. Examples of texts where additional proofreading is usually not needed include email communications, text translations for television, scripts, texts for social media, simple product descriptions for websites or newsletters.

This is how we calculate the prices

To get a price quote, you send us a document or documents through our website. You fill out the form on the page or send an email to our address [email protected]. Diction wants to have transparency in the price list, and we usually calculate the prices based on the number of words. If the document is scanned or in image format, we can also provide a quote per page.

Delivery time

Texts that require both general translation and additional proofreading are usually ready after 2-3 business days. This is the general delivery time for 2-3 pages. If there are more pages, the translation may naturally take longer. If you need the text translated urgently, you can mention it to your contact person at Diction and we will check if it is possible to start immediately. In the case of rush projects, an additional fee is usually charged, but this can vary depending on the time frame and whether the work needs to be done outside of regular business hours.

Confidentiality

Many of the documents we receive from our clients contain sensitive personal information, and we therefore place great emphasis on confidentiality. At Diction, we are bound by a duty of confidentiality regarding all projects and documents, both from companies and individuals. This may, for example, apply to medical reports, criminal records or documents concerning business secrets. If you send us documents to get a quote for a translation project and change your mind or decline our offer, we will delete the document immediately.
